Apostles of Jesus, the first religious missionary order of priests and brothers founded in Africa for Africa and the world, celebrates its fortieth anniversary in 2008 with the theme
"I will be with you always".
Founded in Moroto, Uganda, East Africa, on August 22, 1968, the order soon spread to Kenya, Tanzania, the Sudan and now in other parts of Africa, Europe and the US. 40 years marks a generation.
The number 40 has lots of Biblical symbolism.
- The water that engulfed the earth during Noah's days, lasted 40 days and nights
- The Israelites traveled for 40 years to cross the desert to the promised land.
- Jesus fasted 40 days and nights before His public ministry.
It is in order that the Apostles of Jesus mark this historic anniversary with vigor, hope and enthusiasm. It has been a period of trials, challenges but also many accomplishments. It is not only a time to celebrate, but also plan for the mission ahead being conscious of the present and open to the challenges and the opportunities that the future offers.

From PA and Points North:
Take 495 South to the George Washington Memorial Parkway South. take exit VA-123S toward McCLean. Make a left onto Kirby Rd./695. Bear left onto the ramp, then make a left onto Old Dominion Dr./309. Turn right onto George Mason Drive then right onto Little Falls Rd. You will see K of C.
From Rte. 495 or Points West of the Beltway:
Take I-66 East to the Lee Highway exit. At the light at the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Lee Highway. Go approx. 2.0 miles and turn left onto Harrison Street. Go approx. 0.5 miles and turn right onto Little Falls Road. Proceed through the next light at Yorktown road. The K of C is at the top of the hill on the left.
From Rosslyn:
Take I-66 West to the Sycamore street exit. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right onto Sycamore Street. Proceed thru the first light (Washington Blvd). At the second light turn right onto Lee Highway. Go approx. 2.0 miles and turn left onto Harrison Street. Go approx. 0.5 miles and turn right onto Little Falls Road. Proceed through the next light at Yorktown Road. The K of C is at the top of the hill on the left.
From D.C. Across Chain Bridge:
Go across Chain Bridge and keep to the left to stay on Glebe Road. From the light at the end of the Chain Bridge, proceed 1.8 miles and turn right onto Little Falls Road and the K of C will be at the top of the hill on the right. From McLean: Take Rt. 123 to Old Dominion Drive, turn right onto Old Dominion. Follow Old Dominion to little Falls Road. Turn right onto Little Falls Road and the K of C will be at the top of the hill on the right.
